Broncos long snapper Casey Kreiter signed his exclusive rights tender, keeping him with the Broncos next season.
Kreiter, who signed with the Broncos in 2016, played 10 games in 2016 before a calf injury landed him on injured reserve with three games remaining in the season. He played all 16 games last season.
Hamilton served as an efficient receiver at Penn State where he averaged 16.2 yards per reception with nine touchdowns last season. He’s underrated, runs well and is looking like a potential Day 3 gem that could work into a receiver rotation that still needs more depth.
The Lions finished 0-16 in 2008 and their response was to draft Matthew Stafford with the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. There have been ups and downs since, but Detroit has made three playoff appearances and is coming off back-to-back winning seasons heading into 2018. While that might seem like modest success at best, the Browns would take that over the next decade. It’s yet another reason to draft a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.
“Draft a QB in the first round and put him into a toxic Quarterback room vs. what it was like my second year with [Josh] McCown,” Manziel said. “COMPLETELY different situation. It’s all about the right fit and mine in Cleveland wasn’t right. That’s just the facts. I also have nobody to blame but myself.”
If he has no one to blame but himself, why is he calling the quarterback room toxic? And what does this say about Brian Hoyer, who was the starter when Manziel arrived?
Hoyer has yet to respond to Manziel’s claim that the quarterback room was “toxic,” but the characterization cries out for a reply. Hoyer has an official, blue-checked Twitter page; he hasn’t posted anything since November.
