Terry McAulay is the latest referee to leave the field for the booth.

McAulay will attend Sunday night NFL games and work in the booth during the action as well as appear on set in pregame and halftime, and on PFT Live on Monday mornings when there are big officiating controversies to discuss.

We know this much – the two sides have been in contact and the talks, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff, have been productive. And Matt Ryan says he’ll likely spend time with Jones during an off-site passing camp this summer. So that’s all positive. Bevell didn’t land any of those jobs, however, and that leaves him without anything to do as a player or coach heading into a football season for the first time in more than two decades. Bevell does not expect that to remain the case beyond this year.

Predicting which teams will be looking for offensive coaching help in June doesn’t make much sense, but there certainly will be openings around the league. Bevell’s experience with the Seahawks and Vikings — he was Michael Schofield Youth Jersey Minnesota’s coordinator for five seasons before going to Seattle — is good reason to expect he’ll be proven right about his return to a staff.
